This Page has links to several companies that I have had good luck with. But let's face it it is hard to go wrong with companies like Park Tool or Cateye. There are some other interesting products here that you may not have run across. |

The polar water bottle is a great invention. The bottle is surrounded by a standard gel freezer pack. Just put a bit of water in it and throw it in the freezer before you ride. And you will enjoy cold water for a much longer time than with a conventional bottle. Click the bottle for more information. | ![]() Clipless pedals ad efficiency to your riding. These are Lolis. A Mirrycle Mirror is definitely a superior product. It stays put, gives good visibility and folds out of the way. |
A Bicycle Computer May be one of your best purchases. Not only is it just plain fun to see how fast you are going, or how fast you can go but they are also a great motivator. You can measure distance and time yourself. But moreover it's fantastic to be able to come home and brag about just what an awesome athelete you are. The model to the right is my favorite. The "Cateye Strada Wireless" is easy to set up and use but best of all the whole unit acts as the function button. Just touch the computer to access functionality. |

One of the things I've noticed working at Bike Shops is the most common complaint is, "I want to sit in a more upright position". Typically it is because the bicycle actually hurts the rider. This is especially true for novice riders. One solution is to raise the handlebars with a riser or an adjustable stem. But this is probably not a job you want to try at home as often the cables have to be lengthened. |
